Congrats to Hartpury for getting a vital first win in the Championship in last night's monsoon.
Unsurprisingly, it was a case of four (Bragmann) penalties to two.

With likely no loan support from GRFC this season - having fallen out big time with Hartpury College since being evicted from their training premises - Hartpury will be scrapping for every point this season.

Would be very ironic if Newcastle don't win the Championship - Cornish Pirates and Jersey above them in the table - and would completely b*gger up PRL's ringfencing plans !! ;)

Nobody was evicted! The relationship continues to the benefit of both parties.

Gloucester get too many of their youngsters through Hartpury for the relationship not to continue! Squad size is preventing more dual registrations at the moment and meaningless games like Oxford Uni on a Friday night!

Saint - Are GRFC happy to be leaving Hartpury College ??

I think you will find the answer is NOT very happy at all.

The Academy are therefore loaning their players to a lot more than Hartpury College.

Hartpury give Gloucester Academy access to players from outwith the county they couldn't otherwise sign, hence 60-70% of Academy players have come through Hartpury. Zammit is a good recent example. Would we really cut off our noses to spite our faces by falling out with them?

Plenty of Academy players going out to other clubs, that's not new, merely a recognition that all youngsters are not immediately strong enough to play Championship rugby.

I am sure DH and his team would rather stay put but thye want to expand and so do hartpury, something has to give in physical faclity terms.
